A Dream Comes True
Black Feather
Disclaimer: As much as I want it to be Dark Angel is not mine and never will be so this is to make up for that.
Summary: What if the dream in AJBAC was what really happened (without the crow obviously). This is my idea of the events after that little event.

Rating: PG 13
Max slowly opened her eyes. She desperately hoped it hadn’t been a dream, a little fantasy her mind had made up. Her surroundings were blurred. She brought her eyes into focus. She was in Logan’s bedroom and sun was filtering in through the windows. She rolled over to face a sleeping Logan. It was true. She really had spent the night in pure ecstasy and passion with him. She looked at his face.
He’s so cute when he sleeps. She snuggled in closer to him and got herself comfy. She had started to drift into a light slumber when the bedroom door opened.
"Rise and shine. We got some ... Sorry I didn’t know he had company," Bling said, a smirk forming on his face.
"Go away!" Max sounded like a tired child when she spoke. "I don’t care what training you’ve got planned. Just take the day off or somethin."
"Aren’t you supposed to be at work?" he answered, changing the subject. He didn’t really care what had happened the night before but he still had a job to do, and he intended to do it.
"Probably," she said followed by a yawn. "Just piss off Bling." Max wasn’t really in the mood, or awake enough to argue. She leaned over the edge of the bed, picked up a shoe and threw it at the wall above his head. Bling took the hint. "Tell him I’ll be back in an hour," and walked off.
Logan awoke at the sound of the shoe thudding against the wall. "Morning!" Max turned to face him, her eyes soft, even after the little incident with Bling. Logan looked at the door which now was rather scratched, and the shoe was lying at the bottom. "Do I even want to know?" he said playfully.
"Probably not," she said as she went to kiss him. He returned it gratefully. "What time is it anyway?" she asked as she settled her head on Logan’s chest.
"Half one. And here’s me thinking you didn’t sleep," he joked. He dragged his hands through her hair.
"Only when I want to." Her smile broadened. "And all things considered, this was one of those times."
After a while of just lying around enjoying each other’s warmth and company, they finally dragged themselves out of bed. Max went for a quick shower while Logan made breakfast, even though it should have been their lunch.
Max thought of the recent events that had happened in the past few days as the water pounded on her back. First she had slept with a complete stranger, interrupted in what could have been her sleeping with Logan on the same night, found her sister dead, took down Manticore, and finally she got her chance with Logan. It had been a busy week with mixed feelings but things seemed to be getting better as time progressed. She loved Logan more than anything and she wasn’t afraid to admit that now.
She stepped out the shower and put Logan’s bathrobe on. The strong smell of food drew her towards the kitchen. "Hey, you hungry?"
"That’s a stupid question." Come to think of it, it was. When was she never hungry when she was over at his apartment? It wasn’t anything big or special, just a chicken salad. She waked over to him and kissed him gently. It seemed that they couldn’t keep themselves off each other for more than more than ten minutes.
Brunch was finished and they were both dressed. Max and Logan were sitting snuggled up together on the sofa with music playing in the background. Lazy was working for them today, which was surprising for Max as she usually spent the whole day on her feet.
The two had once again locked themselves together when Bling entered the apartment looking to actually get stared on the training regimen with Logan. "You weren’t supposed to come back today." Logan looked at the two.
Logan had finally given in to Bling and Max to her constant pages from work. "I’ll see you later." Max and Logan kissed again as she left the apartment. I hate work!
"Where have you been Missy for the last three hours you were supposed to be here?!"
"Well , I didn’t actually wake up till half one, and then there was breakfast, shower, actually going home to get my bike and something suitable to wear to work, waiting at the sector check points and then stopping for something to eat. That pretty much accounts for my being three hours late." She said this all at high speed without taking a breath so Normal found it hard to understand any word said except for the last sentence.
"Or you finally bedded your man!" Max looked at Original Cindy standing there with a similar smirk to Bling’s this morning. "Do tell."
Max walked over to her best friend and smiled at her. It was funny how she seemed to know everything just by looking at the expression on people’s faces. "So?"
"You may be my best friend but that doesn’t mean I have to tell you every detail of my sex life."
"Fine then. How about a blurry outline?" Max let out a sigh at her friends perseverance and determination.
"It was ... perfect." She slammed her locker door shut and headed up for a package to deliver, Original Cindy at her heels. She was determined to get more out of Max, but Max just turned round and gave her friend the ‘you should settle with what you have’ look. She decided to leave it at that.
"Hot run, 49 Clancy!" Normal thrust a package into Max’s hands.
As she rode off to deliver her package she felt happier than she had ever felt in her whole life, if you could call it that. Well maybe you could now, she thought. Manticore was gone and she was with Logan. Life was perfect.
Beep beep beep. Her pager went off. Logan.
